Chichen Itza first opened its doors in 2001 by the Cetina family, Gilberto Sr., Blanca & Gilberto Jr. Since then, their goal has been to represent the food of our native state of Yucatan as authentically as possible. They want their guests to be transported to this beautiful region of Mexico with every dish they serve and experience the cuisine as if they were invited into someone's home. They've been recognized as one of the best Yucatan-style Mexican restaurants in the country by such publications as GQ Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Travel and Leisure, People en Español, Hispanic Magazine, LA Weekly, La Opinion & Condé Nast Traveler.
Today, Mr. and Mrs. Cetina are retired and their son Gilberto Jr and his wife Marissa are in charge of keeping this family legacy going.
