Born from a desire to share their mother’s (Mama Fong) original Chinese comfort food, Woon Kitchen pulls influence from Shanghainese and Cantonese recipes to produce a simple, yet delicious menu.
Woon began as a family run pop-up born from a desire to share their mother's (Mama Fong) original Chinese comfort food. They offer a simple menu influenced by Shanghainese and Cantonese recipes. When they moved away it was always Mama’s cooking that they craved. They all worked full-time jobs and hosted pop-ups in the Los Angeles area when we could. Now, they have their first brick and mortar space located in Historic Filipinotown.
"Chewy Shanghai-style noodles, seared in the wok and coated with dark soy, draw crowds at this quaint modern Chinese spot run by a mother-and-son team. The menu is short but balanced.
